Testimony

Yet as I stood in memorial services this evening for him, those things were not the reason to rejoice. Rejoice in the Lord, for His grace is sufficient. That bother is in Heaven right now, not because of his works, which were indeed many, but because of his faith in Jesus Christ, because His grace is indeed sufficient. That one day he repented of his sinful life, and turned to Jesus Christ as his Lord and Saviour. Oh what a wonder
Some things do change.
I am still sad. I would have waited fourteen years, as many as Jacob spent in servitude on the promise to marry Rachel, for a special marriage day, a special life. I still would. Yet it has been taken from me, and did not come to pass.
Yet something else did come to pass, something I am truly grateful for. A gift that I can never repay. A gift of life. Salvation. A gift that Jesus Christ paid for around two thousand years ago when he shed his precious blood on an old rugged cross.
